Wendy Kay also known as Kay Kay or Ms. Kay is a talented afro-soul artist from Nairobi, Kenya. 

A rising star on the music scene, Wendy Kay is fueled by a passion for rich, soulful music. Although she enjoys and has drawn inspiration from various genres of music, Wendy’s major influences include R&B and Soul with sprinkles of House and Pop. 

Time spent honing her skills earned her a two-time appearance at Coke Studio. 

Wendy’s music is a captivating blend of smooth vocals, layered with precision in the studio and delivered with passion and purpose in live performances.  She is skilled at using her songs to capture the listener’s attention, guiding them on the journey of the song and delivering them to a satisfactory end. 

Wendy Kay released her first official single, Calling, in 2019 to the warm reception of local audiences. In 2020, she released her EP, My Way Volume I to be followed by a full album, My Way Volume II in 2022. 

In 2023, Wendy Kay joined the Music Business Academy for Africa Talent Project as one of the 9 artists selected from around the continent. This strategic move has significantly expanded her audience base, particularly in West Africa, opening new doors for her musical endeavors with her presence on the Pepple Street album.

MBA for Africa is a platform dedicated to developing a more informed and empowered workforce for the African music and entertainment industry. 

Pepple Street,”, the 16-track album put together by the 2023 cohort of the MBA programme features all nine artists and a hot lead single which was released on 8th March 2024..

Wendy is a two-time nominee at the prestigious Cafe Ngoma Awards. She also gained recognition for her viral rendition of Yemi Alade’s Africa and her single Maybe was featured on the COLORS Show. 

Still on the road to fame, her song You Again was featured on a Netflix special Made in Kenya Film, Sincerely Daisy. She was also selected for the European Union Kenya Music Xchange Program.

Wendy shines bright on the Pepple Street project with a feel-good R&B bop, Tulia, as her single. She is also featured on tracks with Nigerian rapper, Diyo Matalo and another Nigerian singer, Jenz Williams. 

Pepple Street officially releases on Friday, 29th March everywhere music is streamed.
