On J. Cole’s latest appearance via “To Summer, From Cole,” featured on Summer Walker’s Clear 2: Soft Life EP, the Dreamville don announced that his much-anticipated album is titled The Fall Off.

He gave an intimate look into his life as a parent in his verse, with lyrics like “Session 32 bring me to tears, be getting choked up when I hear it/Seem like I keep crying off so much since a n-gga had these kids/And I don’t know what it is that makes me so sensitive, more than I already was.”

He also congratulated Walker on having a baby and expressed hope that she will make it through with no complications.

He further addressed those who are waiting for him to “fall off” with his new album.

“I’m thinkin’ about ya, I heard you just had you another lil baby/ Congratulations, I hope you got through it with no complications/ I find it amazing, the way that you juggle your kids, the biz, the fame, the bitches that’s hatin’/ They sit around waiting for you to fall off like the album I’m making,” he raps.

In 2020, J. Cole announced The Fall Off, which is speculated to be his last release.

His manager, Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad, expressed a desire to see the rapper perform the album front-to-back on tour. Cole has previously suggested that this project may mark the fulfillment of his reign and possibly even his retirement.

His sixth album, The Off-Season, was released the following year, and he also mentioned a possible project called It’s a Boy. There is still little known about The Fall Off, however.
