Mothaland hosts Mothaland Underground session, Accra

Over the weekend the creative community in Accra came alive to party, network and catch a vibe at the Mothaland Underground session, Accra edition.

The event which happened at South Village in Accra took place between the hours of 9:00 pm to 2:30 am the next day. The event was hosted by Dibs who leads Mothaland, a collective founded in London in 2021 with a mission of championing music, art, and culture across Africa and its diaspora.

The event saw several DJs take their turn to treat patrons to some of the best house, dance, alte, afrobeats, and amapiano sets you will ever hear. DJs on the bill were KQ The Artist, Dibs, Didi The DJ, The Masked DJ, Anna Leonie, and B.Frvnkie, and hosted by NKK.

At a time when people have asked for more niche events, this event came at the right time. The event saw various creatives from different creative fields come together to enjoy fantastic music and mingle.

Since its inception, Mothaland has continuously curated events with a community mindset that showcases and develops emerging talent and features live musicians. In April, their Underground series launched in London, an event aimed at celebrating sounds in intimate spaces and it made its first international stop in Accra last weekend.

After an entertaining evening and experience, Mothaland looks forward to having more events in the motherland. If you missed Mothaland Underground Accra, you can check out excerpts from the event below.
